Basic Regatta Information: (All Regattas)
Time: Check-in, measurement, and practice from 8:00am to 9:30am Skippers meeting and rules review at 9:30am First race at 10:00am Race Director may delay start due to wind and weather
Depends on fleet size and wind, but typically Regattas consist of twelve heats. The AMYA Two-minute starting sequence will be used for all heats. Five-minute “hold” periods will be allowed between heats for resolution of mechanical problems, however, an individual skipper may only call one hold per day. The total number of heats may be less than twelve due to wind and weather conditions, as determined by the Race Director. Last boat may be placed at the Race Director’s discretion. See specific NOR for each regatta for official rules. |

Format: |
For scoring, depending on the number of heats sailed, the two worst finishes for each skipper will be discarded, and the final score will be based on the remaining finishes. Points awarded are equal to the actual finish placement. At the end of the regatta, the skipper with the lowest aggregate score is the winner. See NOR for specific regatta for scoring details. DNF points are equal to the size of the fleet plus one.
